India beat Sri Lanka in the first Test of the three-match series. India won the match by 165 runs. With this victory, India kept their hopes of reaching the final of the ICC World Test Championship alive.

Bangladesh are at the fourth spot after their historic win over Australia last week. After the defeat against India, the point percentage dropped from 41.67 to 33.33 but Sri Lanka remained sixth.
The top two teams in the World Test Championship points table will qualify for the final. India reached the finals in the first two seasons but could not win the title.
