Idukki: Vannapuram panchayat president MA Biju has quit the Congress and joined the BJP. He resigned after being denied a seat. It is alleged that he was offered a candidature in the 11th ward of Vannapuram but was not given it. He then left the party.
During the Co-operative Bank elections, MA Biju was beaten up by LDF workers. Biju also alleged that the party failed to provide him protection after the incident.
